For many casual runners, Sunday mornings are spent lazily scrolling through their phones in bed and trying to work up the energy to go for a run. They know they’ll be glad they did once it’s over, but sometimes they just need a little motivation to get started.
Enter the 8 weeks of Go campaign: a weekly content series on the Nike Running IG stories intended to engage users in playful ways and to inspire them to go running. These stories led up to “Go Day”, a global Nike Running initiative that celebrated running with races around the world.
We utilized the platform in fun ways, having users tap quickly to advance an 8-bit runner, asked them to screenshot to discover what run they should do, asked them polls, and even asked them to shake their phone to get a fortune. Some of the stories featured star runners like Elaine Thompson and Kevin Hart, others were just fun ways to remind people to go running.
